My Wife's Slaw recall
Recalled by Jesse Withrow
The product, as the FDA describes it: My Wife's Slaw, packaged in 8 oz. and 16 oz. glass mason jars with metal lids/bands, MyWifeslaw.web.app, Zanesville, Ohio. Ingredients: Cabbage, Sugar, Vinegar, Mustard, Carrots, Onion, Bell Pepper, Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper.
Why it was recalled
Product was manufactured and distributed without the benefit of an approved food establishment inspection and the required regulatory safety parameters could not be verified.
The FDA has since closed this recall out, which means the company finished removing the product from sale. It is kept here because a closed recall still matters to anyone holding a package bought before it ended.
What to do if you have it
The agency has published the reason above without naming a health hazard class of its own. Match your package against the codes below, and when it matches, return it rather than deciding for yourself whether it looks fine.
How to tell whether your package is one of them
A recall covers particular production runs, not everything the company makes, so the codes decide it. These are the ones the FDA published. Match them against what is printed on your package, usually near the best-before date.
No codes applied
