Copy your connection link
In Provision Planner, open Settings, then AI Connections, and copy the connection link.

Add it in Claude or ChatGPT
In Claude, add it as a connector from Settings. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode first, then add the same link. Sign in and tap Allow.

Can Claude manage my food storage?
Yes. With the free Provision Planner connection, Claude can read your inventory, your expiration dates and your household readiness numbers, and answer questions from them in plain language. If you turn on changes in Settings, it can also add items, mark things used and fix dates or quantities. It cannot delete anything or touch your settings.
Which AI assistants work with Provision Planner?
Claude and ChatGPT both work, and so does any assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol. Claude adds the connection in a couple of clicks from its settings. ChatGPT keeps connectors behind its developer mode setting, so turn that on first, then add the same link.
Is it safe to connect my pantry to an AI assistant?
The connection starts read-only: your assistant can look, not touch. Changes are a separate toggle, off by default, and even with it on the assistant can only add items, mark them used, or fix dates and amounts. It can never delete anything, change your settings, or see billing. Disconnecting from Settings revokes access instantly.
Does the AI connection cost anything?
No. It comes with every Provision Planner account, free ones included, and there is no separate charge for connecting an assistant.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to outside apps and use them as tools. Anthropic published it, OpenAI adopted it, and most major assistants now speak it. Provision Planner's MCP endpoint is https://app.provisionplanner.com/api/mcp, and it works with any client that supports the protocol.
